The
Ying Lung Hsing has remained relatively closed since its
inception. We have opened the door to this “Place
of Dragons” in order to propagate the system.
As founder of this system, I have over 40 years of martial
experience. I have devoted over twenty five of those years,
to research and development to create this art.
The Two Levels of Ying Lung Hsing
The Ying Lung Hsing Tzu Kun
The first level is The Ying Lung Hsing Tzu Kun, “Image
of Dragon Shape Natural Fist”.
We use the term “Dragon Shape”, to represent
the many ways we move the body, expanding our natural movement
into powerful fighting applications. This level begins with
Chi Gung breathing to circulate Chi, and Nei Gung to begin
developing the Iron Shirt.
Important principles of Pa Kua, I Chuan, Hsing I and Tai
chi Chuan are introduced with the concepts of natural movement.
Chan Ssu, “Silk Reeling” is taught at this level
and the concepts of “Fa Jing’.
Two short internal forms are introduced here, which lead
to a Dragon Shape foundation form.
Floor patterns are taught, to understand where we are
in space, in relation to our opponent.
However, as the student moves through the first level,
patterns cease to exist. As we circle and change, we evolve
toward a state of that which is intangible. We refer to
this as “Veil of the Dragon”.
Although it is not hard to comprehend the physical process,
it does take several years of practice, and not everyone
reaches this state. One of the primary reasons we have kept
this art in private, is that the Ying Lung Hsing is not
suited to everyone. It is preferable to be at the Black
Sash level to begin.
The Ying Lung Hsing Tzu Kun is a pure system in itself
and needs nothing to enhance it.
It can be used to complement other styles, and some instructors
do that. Only a few teach it in its pure form, which then
compliments the Ying Pao Lung Hsing Lao Kun Tao.
The Ying Pao Lung Hsing Lao Kun
Tao
The second level is The Ying Pao Lung Hsing Lao Kun Tao,
which translates to “Image of Fire Dragon Shape Old
Hand Way”. The “Fire Dragon” refers to
the impact dynamic and the effect it has on the nervous
system and acupressure points. We have a complete segment
called “Strike Impact Dynamics of Old Hand”.
Unusual kicking methods and more intense training is included
in this level. Nine advanced forms are taught at this level,
in the old tradition. These forms include Snake, Crane,
Iron fist, Dragon in Clouds, Green Dragon and Fire Dragon
Shape. Straight sword, Broad sword and Deerhook Knives are
the weapon forms. None of these forms are found in any other
system, except for the Green Dragon of Willem deThouars.
Each form has a short version and a traditional version.
There are no certified instructors for the second level
at this time, and only one student is training for the second
level.
